Maine wedding photography
A Maine wedding usually means a weekend, a drive and a lot of people who made the trip.
I'm Muyinza Kasirye, a Black wedding photographer based in Boston, Massachusetts. Maine is part of my regular wedding service area, from Portland and the southern coast to lake venues further inland.
Couples who marry in Maine are often doing two things at once: hosting a celebration and asking everyone they love to travel for it. That changes what the photographs need to hold. The arrivals matter. So do the grandparents who drove five hours, the friends who flew in, and the quiet stretch before the ceremony when the house finally fills up.
I photograph the day as one connected story. I give calm, clear direction for portraits and family groups, and otherwise I stay out of the way so the people in the frame can actually enjoy being there.

Coastal wind and fog

Island and ferry venues
If guests or vendors need a ferry to reach a Casco Bay island venue, the boat schedule becomes part of the photography timeline. Share the crossing times in your inquiry so arrival and departure can be planned around them.

Portland is roughly two hours from Boston by car without traffic, and summer weekend traffic on I-95 can stretch that. If most guests are driving up the same morning, build a cushion into the ceremony start so family photos aren't short on family.

Have you photographed weddings in Maine before?

How far ahead should we inquire for a summer or fall Maine date?
As early as you have a date and a venue. Summer and early fall weekends are the busiest time for Maine weddings, and travel days need to be planned around the wedding itself. An inquiry doesn't reserve the date or take a payment; it starts the availability check.
