How to compare wedding photography packages
A price tells you very little until you know what it covers. Put the hours, people, finished photographs and final costs side by side before choosing a collection.
Compare the complete cost for the same wedding: your date, every location, the coverage window, each photographer's hours and the deliverables you actually want. Then compare complete galleries and how clearly each photographer answers your questions.

Before you compare numbers
Package price, starting price and final quote.
A package price belongs to a listed set of inclusions. A starting price describes an entry point; it may not cover the hours or additions you want. A final written quote should describe your specific date, locations, service and applicable charges. Ask what changes the total before treating any two numbers as equivalent.
There is no need to divide every collection into a price per wedding-day hour. The fee can also cover planning, image selection, editing, delivery and included products or sessions. An hourly calculation leaves those differences out.
Set your requirements first.
Write down the first and last moments you want photographed, the places involved and your priorities after the wedding. Do you want an engagement session? An album? Downloadable files? A second photographer for particular parts of the day? Compare proposals against those needs, rather than giving every extra equal weight.

A practical comparison
Price the wedding you want to book.
Imagine two proposals with the same wedding-day coverage window. Quote A includes an engagement session and an album. Quote B offers both separately. These are hypothetical proposals, not Muyinza collections or competitor quotes.
- If you want the session but no album: ask for Quote B's total with the session added. For Quote A, ask whether the album is a fixed inclusion or whether a different collection is available; do not assume a credit.
- If you want both: compare the engagement deliverables and the album specifications before adding their costs. Two albums can differ in size, page count and design service.
- If you want neither: compare the wedding coverage and finished gallery on their own merits. An included extra does not have to become a priority.
Your comparison total: quoted collection + selected additions + applicable charges not already included.
Do not add the booking payment a second time if it is already part of the quoted total. Keep unconfirmed costs in a separate list until the photographer answers them.
Use actual addresses for a regional quote.
For a Boston or Greater Boston wedding, send each venue address and ask about arrival access and parking arrangements. A ceremony and reception at different addresses also need a clear plan for the move between them.
For a wedding in Portland, Maine or New Hampshire, send the same level of detail. Ask which travel arrangements or charges, if any, apply to those venues and the engagement-session location. Beyond the inclusion list
Compare the photographs you will live with.
A tidy proposal matters, but it cannot tell you whether you like the finished work. Ask to see a complete wedding gallery. Look beyond the hero portraits: preparation, ceremony, family groups, guest reactions and the reception should give you a clearer sense of the photographer's choices.
Look at color and skin tones across different lighting conditions, the treatment of a darker room, and how people appear when they are moving or unposed. If only outdoor daylight images are available, ask for examples relevant to the rooms and lighting you expect.
Also establish who will photograph the wedding and who handles planning and delivery. A brand's portfolio and your assigned photographer may need to be discussed separately. Ask how priorities reach the team and who to contact if the plan changes. These are questions to ask every photographer, including me.

Questions that come up when comparing packages.
How much does wedding photography cost in Boston?
Start with a quote for your plans. A single market average cannot tell you which hours, team or deliverables are included. Muyinza Photography's published wedding collection is $2,999 with the inclusions above; confirm travel and any requested changes during booking.
Does “two photographers” mean two people for the entire day?
The phrase alone does not establish each person's shift. Ask for both schedules in the written proposal, even when the collection lists one overall coverage duration.
Is a 48-hour sneak peek the complete wedding gallery?
No. A sneak peek is an early selection. Muyinza's collection includes that preview within 48 hours; the full-gallery timeline is confirmed during booking.
Are printing permission and download rights the same thing?
Do not assume that one phrase answers both questions. Ask what the agreement permits you to download, share and print, and whether there are specifications for personal prints or albums. Muyinza's published collection lists download rights; confirm your intended uses before booking.
Should we choose the package with the most images?
An image count is one comparison point. Review the gallery's consistency and the coverage of the people and moments you care about. Ask how the final selection is described in the agreement rather than assuming that more files mean a more complete story.
