I’m Muyinza Kasirye, a Black photographer based in Boston, photographing portraits, weddings and events across Greater Boston and New England.
You might be celebrating a graduation, making a photograph for someone you love, or simply wanting a recent picture that feels right. Tell me what brought you here. We can shape the session around that, with direction that helps you settle into the frame.

Find your starting point
Choose by purpose. The setting, people and finished photographs can then follow.
A photograph for yourself, a gift or a personal milestone. Tell me whether you picture a close portrait, a full-length image or a wider scene with a place that matters to you.
Inquire about a personal portrait. The inquiry form calls this category “Family & Portraits”; mention that you are planning an individual session.
Decide whether you want photographs on your own, with family or both. Share your graduation date, when you will have your cap and gown, and any deadline for announcements or prints.
Plan graduation portraits. If you have a campus in mind, confirm visitor and photography access before fixing the location.
Bring a sense of what feels like the two of you: a quiet portrait, a walk or a mix of both. Share any date by which you need a finished photograph.

If the photograph is for LinkedIn, a company biography, a business website or a wider brand project, start with the professional collection. Those uses have their own image and licensing needs.

Planning around Boston
A recognizable background is only one part of the decision. Think about how far you want to walk, whether you would rather have a quiet space, and how you will arrive with clothes or belongings. An exact meeting point is more useful than a neighborhood name.
For an outdoor session, discuss a weather alternative before the day. For an indoor space, check photography permission and room availability. If you need seating, step-free access or a shorter route, include that in your inquiry so the plan fits you.
Some familiar Boston spaces require arrangements in advance. The Boston Public Library’s photography policy, for example, requires advance permission for formal photography and directs professional sessions to its Events team. Public access alone does not confirm portrait-session access. This is a planning example, not a location included in your booking.
I’m based in Boston and also serve Greater Boston and New England, including Portland, Maine and New Hampshire. Share your proposed location; travel, access and any related charges need to be settled for your session before booking.
Before the camera comes out
Most portrait sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. The exact length, location and collection are confirmed for your booking. Professional headshot and branding collections have their own published scope.
Wear something you can sit, stand and move in comfortably. I’ll send a style guide with colors that photograph well. If you want an outfit change, mention it early so time and a place to change can be discussed.
For example, “Solo graduation portraits, one photograph with my parents, a vertical announcement image, and a print deadline” gives us a useful starting point without a long pose list.
Session price, image selection, delivery, usage and travel details are confirmed before you book. You do not need a finished plan to inquire.
Portrait session questions
Personal, graduation and engagement sessions are quoted around the people, setting and photographs you need. Your collection and price are confirmed before you book. Headshots and personal branding have separate published collections on the corporate photography page.
Yes. The inquiry form groups individual portraits under “Family & Portraits.” Select that option and say that the session is for you. Tell me what the photograph is for and whether you have a setting or date in mind.
No. I provide direction during the session. Tell me if you prefer clear prompts, a little time to settle in or less attention from passersby. A few image references and an explanation of what you like are more useful than trying to memorize poses.
The general portrait delivery window is a curated gallery within two to three weeks, with each image individually edited. Share any announcement, print or other deadline before booking and confirm the delivery date for your session. Wedding and corporate collections have their own details.
Mention everyone you would like included in the inquiry and whether you want solo portraits as well as group photographs. We will confirm the group size, time and session scope before booking. For a session centered on the whole family, start with the family photography page.
