New Hampshire wedding photography
From the Seacoast to the mountains, close enough to feel local.
I'm Muyinza Kasirye, a Black wedding photographer based in Boston, Massachusetts. New Hampshire is part of my wedding service area, and much of it is closer to Boston than people expect.
Portsmouth and Manchester are each about an hour from Boston without traffic. The Lakes Region is roughly two hours, and the White Mountains closer to three. That means a New Hampshire wedding rarely needs a complicated travel plan, but it does need a timeline that respects the drive, the light and the people coming in for the day.
I photograph weddings as one continuous story. I'll guide portraits and family groups clearly and quickly, then step back and watch for the moments you didn't see while everything was happening.

Southern New Hampshire
Manchester, Nashua, Concord and the Monadnock Region. Farm, barn and inn venues are common. If the ceremony and reception are in different buildings, a second photographer keeps both covered; two are included in the collection.
The Lakes Region
Lake Winnipesaukee, Squam Lake and Lake Sunapee. The sun goes behind the hills before the official sunset, so plan dock and shoreline portraits earlier than your weather app suggests.
The White Mountains
North Conway, Bretton Woods, Lincoln and Waterville Valley. Mountain weather changes quickly and fall weekends book early. Build extra time into travel between getting ready, ceremony and reception.
Planning a fall wedding
Pick the date for itself, not for a foliage forecast.
Peak color moves every year and changes with elevation. The north and the mountains usually turn before the Seacoast and the south.
A portrait plan should work whether the trees are green, gold or mostly bare. Choose two or three portrait spots at the venue, one open and one sheltered, and decide the order before the day. Then if the color is at its best, we use it. If it isn't, the photographs still look like you.

It changes every year and with elevation. Northern New Hampshire and the mountains usually turn before the Seacoast and the southern part of the state. Choose a date you love for its own sake, keep a portrait plan that works with or without peak color, and check the state's fall foliage reports as the season approaches.
What should we plan for at a mountain or lake venue?
Two things matter most for photographs. The sun sets behind the ridgeline earlier than the official sunset time, so outdoor portraits need to start earlier. And in late spring, black flies can make long outdoor sessions uncomfortable in the north woods, so ask your venue about shade, screened spaces and the indoor backup.
