White dinner jackets set the tone. The groomsmen piled onto a sofa in theirs, grinning like a team photo, while Maddie stood by a window in a beaded strapless gown with her hair down. Dave stepped through a doorway with her veil blowing into the frame, and a few minutes later the two of them stood together in a mint green doorway on the porch, finally side by side.
They rode off in a black vintage car, all leather and chrome, trading kisses in the back seat. At the club the colors went full coral and peach: bridesmaids in salmon gowns, roses packed into low centerpieces, a table number on a blue and white patterned card, a candy bar of lollipops and pastel jars on the lawn. Then came the best exit of the afternoon, a varnished wooden runabout strung with a Just Married banner, bobbing at the dock.
Nearly every guest squeezed onto the lawn for one overhead photo with the marina and a hundred masts behind. Under the sailcloth tent, paper lanterns hung in yellow and white, Dave threw both arms up at the entrance, and the first dance spun across a checkered floor. When the light went, the whole tent turned pink against the water, and sparklers carried them out.

A yacht club dock gives you boats, water and open sky for portraits, so ask early whether a member's boat or the launch can be used. The lawn tent faces the harbor, so the best shot of the lit tent comes from across the water or the far end of the pier at blue hour. Plan a guest group photo from a balcony or ladder before dinner while the light is still bright.
