Jhamar & Tifany

Wood Acres Farm in late July is mostly green: weathered gray barns, split-rail fences, and hydrangeas so thick they spill over the garden paths in blue and white. Tifany got ready in a pale blue cottage room with a big Love sign on the wall. When an older man in a dark suit saw her in the dress, he broke into the widest laugh of the day. Out by the barns, Jhamar in a white dinner jacket and bow tie traded handshakes with his groomsmen, all of them in black.

Their first look happened on the lawn under a big shade tree, and it turned into more than a reveal. They each pulled out a small vow book, His in black and gold, and read to each other privately with the hydrangeas at their backs. After that they had the gardens to themselves: a rustic potting shed with a rocking chair on the porch, a vine-covered gazebo, a pale lace train that caught the breeze and flared out across the grass.

Guests gathered on white folding chairs along a brick path facing a wooden arch draped in blush fabric, with the pond and a line of trees behind it. Jhamar waited with the officiant, hands folded, grinning as she came down the aisle. They kissed right in the middle of the path with everyone watching. Later a black horse pulled up with a white carriage and a driver in a cowboy hat, and they rode off around the pond with her bouquet in her lap.
